MIKE WALLACE CONTINUES TRADITION, WINS FLORIDA DODGE DEALERS 400

HOMESTEAD, Fla. - Mike Wallace continued a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series tradition Saturday at Homestead Miami-Speedway, scoring his first career victory in the Florida Dodge Dealers 400.

Unlike the past triumphs by Dave Rezendes, Kenny Irwin Jr., and Rick Crawford, however, Wallace's triumph in the 400-kilometer event was
anything but an upset. The brother of NASCAR Winston Cup regulars Rusty and Kenny Wallace - only a few days after celebrating his 40th birthday - ran with the leaders throughout the event to take the checkered flag.

Wallace took the lead away from Ron Hornaday on lap 158 and led the
final 14 laps.  Wallace led the race four times for a total of 43 laps,
more than any other driver.

"It was a phenomenal day," Wallace said. "I didn't want to see that
last caution come out.

"I just stayed calm. The 16 truck (Ron Hornaday) helped me win this
race by teaching me some stuff last year.  I'd like to take my hat off to
the 16 crew.  We had some killer restarts.  Ron helped us out there."

Rookie Mike Stefanik, who placed second, finished a great effort
despite crashing two weeks earlier.

"I haven't ever been so happy about a second. (Jack) Sprague had a
real tough truck and he had misfortune. A lot was happening out there.  I didn't see it all, but it certainly was exciting."  said Stefanik, who won
both the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Tour and Busch North Series the past two seasons.

There were a total of eight cautions for a total of 34 laps.  Jack Sprague, who was a top contender early in the event, was involved a
spectacular accident on the front straightaway after making contact with another competitor.

Following Wallace at the finish were Stefanik, Stacey Compton, Ron
Hornaday, and Andy Houston.
