The father of the Miami Dolphins quarterback
took eight laps around the 1.5-mile Homestead oval, hitting speeds of 130 mph, driving a
replica of the No. 23 stock car campaigned by fellow Pennsylvanian Jimmy Spencer.
"That was excellent," Marino said. "I was just getting used to it when I
had to come in. It was an outstanding experience."
The Richard Petty Driving Experience ranges from three-lap high-speed rides given
by professional drivers (in replicas of NASCAR Winston Cup stock cars driven by Dale
Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon), to the 30-lap "Experience of a Lifetime." The
Richard Petty Driving Experience
will be at Homestead through Sunday. For additional information, call 1-800-BE PETTY. |
